“The Vietnam War in Poetry: Ancient History or Prescient Harbinger?” a poetry reading by six American poets, who participated in the Vietnam War, was organized by President Daniel H. Weiss on November 11, Veteran’s Day. Their reading was part of a two-day conference, which included a panel discussion the next day.

The Bi-Co Orchestra Performs Dvořák and Bernstein

The Bi-College Orchestra, conducted by Associate Professor of Music Heidi Jacob, performed Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to Candide and Antonin Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 in the majestic Marshall Auditorium for free last Friday night.

Fall 2011 Student Dance Concert

On Saturday, November 19, students from the Bi-Co community performed the annual Fall Student Dance Concert, featuring performances from the dance troupes Bounce, Mayuri, Pulso Latino and Yalah!, as well as those by a number of dancers not affiliated with any particular group.

Black Students League Brings Fashion to Fords

Founders Great Hall was the setting for some serious glamour on Friday night. The Black Student League’s Culture Shock Fashion Show featured Bi-Co students strutting their stuff on the runway in professionally made couture.

A Lot of A Cappella

11/11/11 was an especially lucky day for Haverford a cappella fans. The Yale Whiffenpoofs (you may know them from NBC’s The Sing Off) and many of the campus’ groups performed at two different events.
