Black Students League Brings Fashion to Fords

Founders Great Hall was the setting for some serious glamour on Friday night. The Black Student League’s Culture Shock Fashion Show featured Bi-Co students strutting their stuff on the runway in professionally made couture.

Founders Great Hall was the setting for some serious glamor on Friday, November 11. The Black Students League took over the space for the Culture Shock Fashion Show, an event that highlighted “the beauty of African art through clothing design as well as performances.”

The show featured live musical performances and 24 male and female models from Haverford and Bryn Mawr sashaying down the runway in the sartorial wares of Bchris Couture (by Baaba Christian), Suede Square (by Rasheen Waites), CHI CHI VOGUE (by Marsha Williams) and Shakur Couture by Sadé Stevens. Proceeds from the fundraising event went to the Philadelphia nonprofit group Youth Action, and to Street Academy, an organization that aids street children in Accra, Ghana.
