Haverford’s Yiddish Cultural Festival Goes Punk

The two-decade-old tradition, which invites community members to enjoy film, music, and speakers encompassing all things Yiddish every semester, welcomed queer, Yiddish, anarchist band Koyt Far Dayn Fardakhtn, featuring bassist Rose Kaplan-Bomberg ’10, to campus.

COOL CLASSES: “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Gender”

Students in this course, which explores the intersection of gender, sexuality, race, class, religion, and embodiment in our time, bring the personal into the classroom and to take what they learn out into the world.

COOL CLASSES: “Visual Histories of the Civil Rights Movement”

This history course in which students students study Civil Rights-era images as artifacts, as part of archives, and pathways to visibility, solidarity, and justice.
