After a long, cold winter that had everyone climbing the walls of their dorms and offices, Wednesday was the day that the entire Haverford community had been waiting for. With the sun out in full force and temperatures touching the mid-80s, students made their way to Founders Green, where a sea of pinwheels awaited.
As Fords tossed frisbees and spiked volleyballs, sprawled on blankets with friends, or simply watched pinwheels spin in a refreshing spring breeze, the stress that comes with the end of the academic year melted away, at least for a few hours. Of course, no beautiful day goes undocumented. Haverford’s photographers were on the scene to capture the day’s color and energy.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. We also put together a Pinwheel Day Spotify playlist, a collection of tunes we heard across Founders Green. Give it a listen the next time you find yourself wishing it were Pinwheel Day. Want to add your song to the mix? Send your picks to hcnews@haverford.edu.
Now if only every day could be Pinwheel Day…
