Bidding for Senior Week

The Commencement Committee held its annual Senior Auction in Zubrow Commons.

On Friday Feb. 12, the Commencement Committee hosted this year’s Senior Auction in Zubrow Commons. The annual tradition, which raises money for Senior Week, was emceed by Jeesoo Kang  and Lexi Williams (both Class of 2016) and welcomed students from all classes to bid on items ranging from homemade dinners to private a cappella concerts and gift baskets.

A wide variety of items generated much spirited bidding from the roughly 50 students in attendance: Rihanna concert tickets, baked goods made by Damon Motz-Storey ’16, a custom logo or design by Caroline Fleet ’16, and a dinner with President Kim Benston at his home. Many clubs and student organizations also offered up creative items, including private lessons proffered by Bounce Dance Club, a community poem created by Lethal Expression, an  improv workshop by the Throng, and many more. But the item that drew the highest bid of the night was a pair of Senior Party tickets that went for $100.
