Jenna Medeiros’ room in Jones is the winner of the first ever #Haverhome competition
There are all kinds of residential halls here at Haverford. Some students live four-person apartments, some live in suites, others in singles. And thanks to the creativity, individual tastes, and ingenuity of Fords, no two rooms look alike. So in February we launched a month-long contest on Instagram to get a peek at how campus residents design and organize their space and to see how they’ve made their dorm a home. We had dozens of submissions (hashtagged Haverhome) of great-looking rooms, all of which showcased their denizens’ style, interests, and personal preferences.
It was hard to pick a winner, but the many sophisticated DIY projects Jenna Medeiros ’18 undertook (tufted velvet walls! a canopy bed! a fireplace mantel!) helped her triumph in the end. Grace Mangigian’s cozy, cheerful room and Sergio Fernandez’s team- and school-spirited space also earned both seniors runners up titles.
All three winners earned Bed Bath & Beyond gift cards to further outfit their stylish spaces. Thanks to everyone who submitted!
