Every Thursday night from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., strains of music can be heard in and around Roberts Hall on campus. For many Haverford and Bryn Mawr students, this magical music comes as no surprise: Thursday night is the weekly rehearsal time for the Bi-College Orchestra.
The conductor, Associate Professor of Music Heidi Jacob, who has also studied at the Curtis School of Music and the Julliard School, has been leading the group of talented students in this audition-only ensemble since 1996.
The Bi-College Orchestra can be heard during the President’s Inauguration Weekend (marking Dan Weiss’ official start as Haverford’s 14th president) on Sunday, October 27. The orchestra will perform from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Roberts Hall, Marshall Auditorium. Admission is free of charge.
